1. Entry. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
This is a contest of skill. To enter, send an essay of 250 words or less describing your fishing tale, identified with your name, phone number, e-mail and return mailing address. Photos are welcome but will not be returned. A panel of internal judges will be looking for original, humorous, wild - yet true - stories. 2. Eligibility
You must be 21 or older to enter. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. Only those entries post marked by August 1, 2001, either by e-mail or mail, are eligible. Employees (and their immediate family members or those living in the same household) of OPTIMA Batteries, Inc., and its advertising or promotion agencies are not eligible. |

3. Prizes. Grand Prize:
Grand prize winner will receive a four night, three day all inclusive fishing package for two at the Totem Lodge in Ontario, Canada. Package includes airfare (maximum $500 per person), ground transportation to Lodge, meals, lodging (double occupancy), boat equipment, gas, live bait, professional guide and fillet and freezer service. Winner is responsible for fishing license, liquor, gratuity, and any items of a personal nature. Winner is responsible for transportation to airport near residence as designated by sponsor. All elements of the prize are subject to availability and scheduling, and are subject to change at sponsor's sole discretion. Reservations are the responsibility of the winner. Travel must be completed by December 1, 2001. No substitutions, no transfers. Estimated retail value: $4,000.
First Prizes:
Five runners up will receive an OPTIMAŽ Blue Top™ Battery and a prize package including OPTIMA branded clothing and merchandise. Estimated retail value: $200. |

4. Winners.
Winners will be selected on or about September 1, 2001, and notified by mail or express delivery during September 2001. To obtain prize, winner must within five days of notification execute
- assignment of all rights in winning story to OPTIMA Batteries, Inc.
- affidavit certifying that the story submitted was the entrant's original work, and that the entrant holds all rights to the story, that the story has not previously been published or won a prize or award, and that the entrant has followed the rules of this contest, and
- indemnification of OPTIMA Batteries, Inc. on these matters.
To obtain prize, winner must also within five days of notification execute Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability and must designate travel companion, who must also execute Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability, or alternate winner may be selected. Except where prohibited, acceptance of prize constitutes consent by winner and by travel companion to the use of name, likeness and biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation. For winner's names, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to address listed above after September 1, 2001, or check the optimabatteries.com web site after October 1, 2001.

5. Odds of Winning
depend on the number and quality of entries received.

6. Taxes.
All taxes imposed on prizes are winner's sole responsibility.

7. Additional Rules.
Decision of Sponsor on all contested matters is final. Entries will not be returned. Any submissions containing vulgar language or any other language deemed not appropriate will be disqualified. Travel companion must be 21 years of age or older, or the child or legal ward of prize winner.
OPTIMA Batteries, Inc. shall not be liable for any entry, loss, damage, costs, or expense arising directly or indirectly in connection with this contest or its prizes, nor responsible for any printing, typographical, mechanical or other errors, including such errors as may lead to erroneous appearance of qualification for a prize. To the extent this contest is publicized over the Internet, it is intended for viewing in the United States and Canada (but not Quebec) only and shall be construed and evaluated only according to United States law and, where applicable, Canadian law. Do not enter this contest if you are not located in the United States or Canada outside of Quebec. Entries made on the Web will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. In the event of a dispute, the potential winner may be required to provide proof if he or she is the authorized holder of the identified e-mail account. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this contest should virus, bugs or other causes beyond its control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of this contest.
